# RAG vs Compiled Wiki

RAG は query-time retrieval が中心で、質問ごとに raw documents から relevant chunks を探し、都度 synthesis する。これは手軽だが、過去の読み込み・統合・矛盾検出が artifact として残りにくい。

Compiled wiki 型の [[llm-wiki-pattern]] は ingest-time synthesis が中心。source を追加した時点で [[wiki-maintenance-loop]] に沿って wiki page、cross-reference、index、log を更新する。後の質問では raw source だけでなく、すでに整理された中間知識を読める。
